Interested in Starting A Worship Community in Your Home?

In the early days of Christianity, believers met in house churches. As early Christianity began to separate from Judaism, followers left the Synagogues and began meeting in the homes of fellow believers. The Acts of the Apostles describes houses becoming the primary location for Christian gatherings (Acts 1:13; 2:2,46; 12:12). In Romans 16, Paul addressed at least five different house churches.

Today, churches own land and buildings valued in the hundreds of billions of dollars, and spend hundreds of millions on their upkeep and maintenance, for hundreds of thousands of people to worship for an hour each week. Imagine the possibilities if those economic resources were released to help finance God's mission in this world.

In addition to the authenticity and economics of home-based worship, a smaller gathering of seekers, believers, and the curious create an organic intimacy and safe space to share, question, and wrestle with scripture as it was intended. New connections are created within  community as learning and service to neighbors is shared and spiritual growth is intertwined.
